Description
Nos 85 and 87 on Main Street, also known as Highwayside, are a range of four cottages that have been converted into two, dating from the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of red brick and feature a plain tile roof with two brick ridge stacks. They have a dentil eaves cornice and rise to two storeys. The south elevation consists of four bays. On the ground floor, from left to right, there is a blocked doorway, a former shop window, a 2-light Yorkshire sash window, another blocked doorway, a doorway with a raised and fielded panelled door, two 2-light Yorkshire sash windows, and another blocked doorway, all topped with segment-headed arches. Above, there are four 2-light casement windows, each with segment heads.
