Description

27 Market Street is a building from the early 19th century that features shops with residential accommodation above. It is constructed of red brick with vitrified headers and has a modern hipped roof covered with tiles. The building has two storeys plus attics and a three-window front. The north elevation has an advanced central bay with a central doorcase that is covered by a modern fascia. The entrance includes a six-panelled door with a plain fanlight above. On either side of the door, there are recessed glazed shop fronts from the 20th century. Above these shop fronts, there are three glazing bar sash windows, some of which retain original glass, with painted sills and brick voussoirs. Additionally, there are three smaller similar windows above, near the eaves.
