Description
46-52 Fore Street is an early 19th-century red brick building, featuring a mix of two and three storeys with attics. The façade has a five-window range with double-hung sash windows that include glazing bars, set in plain reveals. The outer and central bays project slightly, each showcasing a three-light window flanked by narrow sidelights on the first storey. The southeast end of the building rises to an attic storey with a parapet, while the central bay features an attic storey with a pediment. The northwest end has a modern brick gable. A raised brick band runs across the front at the level of the second-storey window sills. The recessed sections of the front include dormers with pediments. The ground storey consists of 20th-century shop fronts, most of which retain glazing bars, and there is a carriage entrance located in the centre.
