Description

Number 2 (The Brick Barn) and Number 4 (The Stone Barn) are two barns that have been converted into houses, dating from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of coursed squared gritstone and red brick, topped with plain tile roofs. The east gable features stone coping.

On the south elevation, the Brick Barn on the right has a central doorway with a stone lintel and a 20th-century door. There is one 20th-century window to the right, two to the left, and one above. The Stone Barn to the left has two windows on the first floor.

The north elevation of the Brick Barn features, from right to left, a segment-headed doorway, a doorway with a stone lintel, a doorway with a segment head, three irregular openings, and another segment-headed doorway. There are four windows above. The north elevation of the Stone Barn has a central doorway with a massive stone lintel and moulded jambs, with stable-type doors. To the left, there are three irregular windows, and two more to the right. The first floor has three windows, with the one on the right set in the former loft doorway. All openings have 20th-century doors or windows. The west gable end has been entirely rebuilt in the 20th century. The buildings are listed for their group value only.
