Description

This barn, dating from the 18th century, has been converted into two houses. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with a plain tile roof. The barn originally had eight bays, with large wagon entrances located in the third and sixth bays. The front facing the road features wagon doors and small vent slits; four are at ground floor level and six are above, and these vents have been glazed. The gable ends are coped and sit on kneelers. A blocked pitching hole is visible in the west gable. The east gable wall adjoins the courtyard walls of the Clock House. The south side of the barn now has single-storey wings at each end, glazed cart entries, and modern casement windows. There are two two-light casements on the ground floor of bays 2 and 7, and six three-light casements on the first floor.
