Description

Manor Cottage is a 17th-century house constructed from coursed rubblestone with a plaintile roof. The building features three bays and two storeys, including dormers, and is positioned at right angles to the road, with a wall extending north-west along the roadside. The entrance door, located between the right-hand bays of the north-west front, is topped by an open gabled hood. The left bay contains a 4-light stone framed and mullioned window from the 17th century, while the right bay has a 3-light timber casement. On the first floor, there is a 6-light stone mullioned window on the right, a 3-light stone window in the centre bay, and another 3-light timber casement on the left. All windows are leaded. The gable ends are stone coped and supported by kneelers. There are two 2-light dormers on the right-hand bays. The west gable features a stack, and there is another stack between the left-hand bays.

To the south-west, fronting the road, there is a 1-bay, 2-storey 18th-century wing with an old tile roof. The ground floor has a stone framed window, while the upper floor features a timber casement. The stone garden wall is eight feet high and topped with pantile copings. Halfway along the wall are two 18th-century entrance gate piers, which have moulded plinths, necking strings, cornice caps with ball finials, and show some signs of repair. Inside the house, there is a 17th-century staircase with turned balusters and newel posts that have round heads.
