WESTON UNDERWOOD HIGH STREET (south east side) The Manor House including stone gate posts

GV II

House. Early C19, altered. Coursed rubblestone, slate roofs. East wing of 3 bays and 3 storeys, set back west wing with gable facing High Street, 2 storeys with attic, 2 storey link between wings. Recessed sash windows with cement faced lintels. East block has 4 ground floor sashes, 3 to upper floors, flanking stacks. West gable has 2 ground floor sashes, one to upper floor. Coped gables on kneelers. Link has 1 sash. Gable of west wing has doorcase to left in ashlar with 6 panel door, patterned fanlight, architrave surround, console brackets to broken segmental cornice, probably from the demolished Weston House. Sash to right. 3 first floor sashes, one to gable. Coped gables on kneelers. West elevation of 3 bays with weathered lateral stack. Garden wall fronting High Street in front of west block has flanking stone piers with moulded bases and caps and central gate piers with moulded caps and draped urn finials. The piers are linked by rubble walls with cow-and-calf coping.
