Description
The Manor House, including stone gate posts, is a house from the early 19th century that has been altered. It is constructed of coursed rubblestone and features slate roofs. The east wing consists of three bays and three storeys, while the west wing is set back, has a gable facing High Street, and includes two storeys with an attic. There is a two-storey link between the wings. The windows are recessed sash types with cement-faced lintels. The east block has four ground floor sashes and three upper floor sashes, with flanking stacks. The west gable features two ground floor sashes and one upper floor sash. The gables are coped on kneelers, and the link has one sash window.
The gable of the west wing has a doorcase to the left made of ashlar, featuring a six-panel door, a patterned fanlight, an architrave surround, and console brackets supporting a broken segmental cornice, likely from the demolished Weston House. There is also a sash window to the right and three first floor sashes, one in the gable. The west elevation has three bays and a weathered lateral stack.
In front of the west block, a garden wall along High Street has flanking stone piers with moulded bases and caps, as well as central gate piers with moulded caps and draped urn finials. The piers are connected by rubble walls topped with cow-and-calf coping.
