Description

The Bust of Homer in the Wilderness at Weston Park is a 18th-century stone sculpture situated on a tapering plinth. The bust depicts the bearded figure of Homer. It was originally gifted to the poet William Cowper by his nephew John Johnson and was first placed in the garden of Cowper's House in Weston Underwood before being moved to its current location in the Wilderness. The plinth features an inscription of a Greek quotation from Homer, along with a verse by Cowper.
