Description

The Poplars is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features a Welsh slate roof, which has brick gable stacks and stone-coped gables with plain kneelers. The building stands three storeys tall, with the south elevation displaying three symmetrical bays.

The façade includes a stone plinth, quoins, a first-floor sill band, and a moulded cornice, topped with a blocking course. The central bay is slightly advanced and features a central doorway with a moulded, pedimented doorcase, which contains a 20th-century glazed door. On either side of the doorway are Venetian windows. Above the door, there is a central window with a moulded architrave and hoodmould, along with a glazing bar sash. The two windows flanking this central window are glazing bar sashes set beneath keyed and channelled wedge stone lintels. There are three smaller, similar windows above these on the upper floor.
