Description
The Queen's Head Inn and attached coach house is a public house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from finely coursed and squared gritstone with gritstone dressings. The main building features a hipped Welsh slate roof, while the coach house has a gabled Welsh slate and tiled roof, with stone coped gables and rendered lateral stacks.
The inn is three storeys high, with plain bands on the first and second floors and a moulded eaves cornice. The east elevation consists of three bays. The off-centre round-arched doorway has a stone doorcase with pilasters and a bracketed hood. There is a blocked door with a window set in and a fanlight above. To the right, there is a glazing bar sash window under a keyed and channelled wedge stone lintel, with two similar windows to the left. The upper storey features three similar glazing bar sash windows beneath the eaves.
A 19th-century wrought iron inn sign bracket is present. The coach house to the right has a doorway with a plain bracketed stone hood and a 20th-century door. To the left, there is a 20th-century window, and to the right, a segmental carriage entrance with a keyblock and double doors. There is also a later bay to the right with a doorway featuring a stone lintel and a square opening above with a stone surround and a plank door.
