Description

The Kinton Tithe and Tithe Barn is an early 18th-century barn, later converted into a pair of houses. The barn is constructed of timber framing with weatherboarding and red brick, now with a 20th-century pantile roof. It is a two-storey building with a crowstepped gable to the left-hand end and three 20th-century brick stacks along the ridge, and one behind the ridge to the right. The left-hand gable end features tiers of vertical and cruciform vents. The front has nine 20th-century wooden casement windows, some with one, two, or three lights, and a pair of ground-floor 2-light wooden casements. There are also boarded doors to the left and centre, each with a 2-light casement to the right, and two pairs of boarded garage doors in the centre and to the right. First-floor casements are in the gable ends, with the left-hand one likely replacing an earlier loft opening.
