Description

Rushy Leasowes is a farmhouse, now disused, dated 1753 with later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of painted red brick with a slate roof. It follows a two-cell central baffle-entry plan. The farmhouse is one storey and attic in height. C19 casement windows are present, with C18 gauged heads to the left and right of a boarded front door, which is topped by a gabled hood. C19 gabled eaves dormers are situated directly above. A tall central red brick ridge stack rises above the entrance. A datestone marked "W / BM / 1753" is located on the left gable end, and there is a catslide outshut to the rear. This building is included on the list as a dated and largely unaltered example of a small 18th-century farmhouse.
