Description
Ivy House Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house located in Hollington Marsh. It is constructed of red brick with stone-coped gables and moulded kneelers, topped with a tiled roof that features a central brick stack. The building has a T-plan layout and consists of two storeys plus attics. The east elevation displays two nearly symmetrical bays, with the ground floor featuring two wooden cross windows; the right-hand window has a segmental arch above a flat head. Above, there are two 2-light windows with flat heads and segmental arches. The south gable end has two blocked segmental arched windows on the ground floor, one similar window above, and a 2-light window in the gable. A lower rear wing has a dentil eaves cornice.
Inside the front range, there are two rooms separated by a broad chimney stack. The north room includes an ingle-nook with four small cupboards that have raised and fielded panelled doors. The south room features raised and fielded panelling on the north wall, along with a raised and fielded panelled stone chimney piece that has a fluted keystone. There is a dado around the other three walls and a double cornice.
