Description
This is a terrace of three cottages located opposite the Saracen's Head Pub in Shirley, dating from the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of red brick and feature a Welsh slate roof, with brick stacks at the ridge and gable ends. The building is two storeys high and has a west elevation divided into four bays following the pattern A, B, A, B, A, B, A. The 'A' bays each contain a two-light small pane casement window beneath a segmental arch on the ground floor, with a similar but smaller window above. The 'B' bays feature a doorway with a plank door, also under a segmental arch. The right-hand bay shows half-blocked breathers, indicating the building's previous use as a barn. The terrace is listed for its group value only.
