Description
Barn Farmhouse is a mid-18th century building that combines a farmhouse and a cottage into one structure. It is constructed of brick with coped gables and plain kneelers, topped by a plain tile roof featuring two brick ridge stacks. The eaves are adorned with a dentilled band. The house has a three-room layout and includes a gabled staircase tower at the rear. It stands two storeys high with attics.
The west elevation consists of three bays, each with broad segmental arched windows fitted with small pane casement lights. Above these, there are three similar windows. Between the first and second bays from the left, there is a doorway with a segmental arched head and a plank door, alongside a similar blocked doorway. Above the blocked doorway is a 20th-century casement window with a flat head. The rear elevation features two 20th-century doorways and a 20th-century window, while the staircase tower has a tall plain staircase window. Inside, there is a dogleg staircase with stick balusters, plaster floors in all but one room, and moulded beams in the main two rooms.
