Description

Waldley Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse and cottage, now combined into a single dwelling. It is constructed of red brick on a stone plinth, with brick dressings and a plain tile roof. The roof features brick gable, external gable, and ridge stacks, along with moulded stone coped gables and a sawtooth eaves band. The building has three bays and originally two storeys, though garrets have been incorporated to create three storeys. A segment-headed doorcase with a stone keystone and plank door is flanked by two-light glazing bar casements, each with a segment head and stone keystone. An identical doorcase, door, and window are present to the east. Above, three segment-headed windows are set within stone keystones; the central one is a three-light glazing bar sliding sash, while the side windows are two-light glazing bar casements. Further windows have been added to the upper level, each being a three-light glazing bar sliding sash. The interior features large inglenook fireplaces in each ground floor room, alongside low, chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops.
