Description

This icehouse, located a quarter of a mile northeast of Longford Hall, dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of red brick. It features an underground domed well with a barrel vaulted entrance tunnel to the north. The tunnel includes hingings for three doors, and beyond the entrance, the well measures four metres in diameter and over four metres in depth. The walls of the well are corbelled inwards. While the outer skin of the cavity wall over the dome has been damaged, the inner wall remains intact.
