Description
Gardener's Cottage at Longford Hall Farm is a single-storey building with attics, constructed in 1861. It is made of red brick with stone dressings and features a plain tile roof, which has two brick diamond-set ridge stacks and pierced bargeboards. The cottage has three bays, and the south elevation includes a central gabled bay with a three-light cross window, set beneath a four-centred Staffordshire blue brick relieving arch, with a chamfered stone lintel and sill. To the east, there is an open wooden porch that leads to a studded wooden door, followed by a two-light casement window, also with a chamfered stone lintel and sill, and set under a blue brick relieving arch. A similar three-light window under a relieving arch is located at the far west end. Above the gabled bay, there is another three-light window without an arch. The east gable wall features similar two-light windows and has a datestone inscribed '1861 E' at the top of the gable. All the windows are either 19th-century diamond metal casements or 20th-century diamond leaded lights. The cottage is included for its group value only.
