Description
Ednaston House is a late 18th-century house located on Ednaston Lane in the parish of Brailsford. Constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, it features brick gable stacks and a dentilled eaves band. The house is arranged as a two-story T-plan, with a garret space above.
The west elevation has three bays, with a central doorway topped by a bracketed stone hood. The doorway has a panelled door with a rectangular overlight, flanked by single sash windows with wedge lintels and double keystones. A further three sash windows are located above. The interior entrance hall has a Minton tiled floor and a staircase with an open string, carved tread ends, and stick balusters. A late 18th-century chimney piece is present in a ground floor room to the south.
Brick walls with stone copings and iron railings enclose the front garden. A range of outbuildings and stables are attached to the east, distinguished by segment-headed doorways and a round-arched doorway leading to stairs to a loft.
