Description
Brailsford Mill Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings date from the late 17th century and mid 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and red brick, topped with plain tile roofs, featuring a brick ridge stack and three brick gable end stacks. The eaves are adorned with a dentilled band. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a west elevation comprising four bays, where the central two bays are slightly advanced. The ground floor, made of sandstone, reflects the remains of the original 17th-century house and includes a central doorway with a 19th-century panelled door and a corrugated iron porch. On either side of the doorway are 3-light wooden windows. The first floor is built of brick and has two similar 3-light windows. To the left is a 19th-century bay featuring a broad segmental arched window on the ground floor and a 2-light window above. The stone ground floor continues to the right with an additional window. There are brick outbuildings to the right, currently used as a cowhouse. The rear elevation displays the date 1845 in blue headers. The interior has not been inspected. The building is listed for its group value only.
