Description
Broncroft Lodge is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed of brick, featuring a hipped plain tile roof and rear stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The windows are 20th-century 6/6 sashes set in broad beaded cases, topped with 20th-century cast lintels that have fluted keyblocks. The eaves are adorned with brick modillion detailing. There are three 20th-century gabled dormers, each with 2-light casements and moulded pediments and eaves.
The central entrance boasts a six-moulded and fielded-panel door with a fanlight, all beneath a moulded open pediment hood supported by attached square piers. This entrance is flanked by similar sash windows. On the right side of the building, there is a 6/6 sash window above a 20th-century 3-light casement, which features leaded clerestory lights and is set under a segmental arch.
At the rear, there is a wing that includes two 2-light casements in the gables with modillion eaves bands, situated above 19th-century 3-light casements that flank a plank door with an overlight. This door is sheltered by a simple cambered metal hood on scrolled brackets. Inside, the lodge features an open-well staircase with turned balusters and exposed ceiling beams.
