Description

Brook Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, located in Peaton. It is a timber-frame and plaster building with a plain tile roof, featuring a gable facing the road. A rubble exterior stack has a brick chimney on the right side. The house is arranged in a T-shape.

The exterior is single-storey with an attic, presenting a two-window front. The windows are early 20th century 2-light casements, most under simple wooden hoods, with a further 20th century 3-light casement to the gable. The left return side features a 20th century 2-light casement in timber and brick over a painted rubble panel, along with a 20th century plank door with a light and a 3-light casement in a painted brick panel. The rear of the house has two 20th century 2-light casements over a rubble lean-to, with further casements and a plank door. A 20th century timber-framed wing extends to the right. The interior was not inspected.
