Description
Marrison's House is a house dating from around 1700, constructed of red brick with a tiled roof. It features raised and coped gables with kneelers, a single ridge stack, and a right gable stack. The eaves are decorated with dentils and the house is set on a brick plinth, which now has a concrete render. The building has two storeys plus a garret and consists of five bays with a first-floor band.
The central doorway has a panelled door with a glazing bar overlight. On either side of the door are two wooden cross casements. Above, there are two similar casements, a single blocked window opening to the right, another single similar casement, and further right, a single blocked opening. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension.
Inside, there is an early 18th-century dogleg staircase with turned balusters located in the lean-to. The room to the right of the doorway is panelled, although much of it is now boarded over. It features a chamfered beam with ogee stops, a moulded cornice, and single panelled cupboards flanking the fireplace, which have moulded surrounds, pilasters, keystones, and round arched double doors. The interior domed roof of the left cupboard is ribbed.
