Description
Normanton Hall is a house dated 1820, as noted over the fireplace in the northeast ground floor room. It is constructed of red brick with cement render and features a hipped slate roof with three rendered ridge stacks. The building has a moulded wooden eaves band and is two storeys tall with three bays.
The east front includes a central doorway with part-glazed double doors, framed by a Roman Doric surround that has single flanking attached columns, an entablature with triglyphs and guttae, a modillion cornice, and a pediment. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar casements. Above, there are two similar casements flanking a single central glazing bar casement with a round and traceried head.
The garden or south front consists of five bays with a slightly projecting central bay, featuring five low glazing bar sashes and five smaller similar sashes above. Inside, there is a dogleg staircase with carved tread ends and plain balusters.
