Description

The walls and gateway to The Grange in Normanton-on-Trent date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of red brick with ashlar coping. To the east of the house, there are two buttressed walls that extend 28 metres and end in single coped piers. Between these two piers is a similar low wall that runs for 12 metres. The northernmost pier features an ashlar orb finial on top, and from its north side extends a curved wall with brick coping, which ends in a smaller, similar pier. There are two corresponding piers and a wall to the north, creating a gateway. This structure is included for its group value only.
