SK 14 NE 1/10 6.5.70. Nos 53 to 57 (odd) II GV 2. Early C18 range with later alterations, part of same building as No 5l. Formerly the "Ring of Bells" Inn. Chequered brick with bands. Old tiled roof. 2 storeys and attics; 3 later windows in moulded wood frames, 3 modest moulded wood doorcases, 2 coupled on eastern side. All original window recesses of lower storey blocked and later sashes inserted. 3 gabled dormers with moulded bargeboards.

Nos 43 to 61 (odd), and the Old Grammar School and the pavement at the front of the Old Grammar School form a group of the greatest importance.
