Description

59 Church Street is a building from the mid to late 18th century, likely originally used as stables for the Grey House. It has been restored and is constructed of red brick with corbelled plaster eaves and a slate roof, sitting on a stone plinth. The building is two storeys high and divided into three bays, featuring an arched treatment that spans the full height. There are three casement windows, each with three lights. A central arched entrance leading into a vestibule is a modern addition. Despite some alterations, the building retains character. It is part of a significant group that includes Nos 43 to 61 (odd), the Old Grammar School, and the pavement in front of the Old Grammar School.
