Description
49 Church Street is a late 18th-century building constructed of red brick with a coped parapet, although the roof is not visible. It stands three storeys high and features five windows, each with gauged flat brick arches. A moulded stone cornice is present on the second floor. The entrance has a stuccoed doorcase framed by a moulded architrave, complete with pediments supported by consoles and steps leading up to it. The basement is stone-faced and has arched lights. This property, along with Nos 43 to 61 (odd) and the Old Grammar School, is part of a group of significant historical importance.
