Description
Nos 18 and 20 High Street is a building that was formerly the Old Grammar School. It dates from the 15th to 16th century and features a timber-framed structure that is now fronted with brick and weather-boarding on the ground floor, while tiles cover the upper section. The building has a recessed center flanked by two wings, with the first floor overhanging on curved brackets. There are also curved brackets in the center that support the projecting eaves. The first floor is adorned with casement windows that retain original diamond panes and small square panes. The ground floor has a modern shopfront. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the north side of High Street, which includes the Church of St Mildred, ranging from Nos 10 to 44.
