Description

The Town Hall, located at 24 High Street, dates back to 1790 and has been refronted in rough plaster. It is a two-storey building built in two sections. The eastern section features a slate roof, a large modern window, and an iron balcony on the first floor, which is supported by columns below, creating a portico that extends across the pavement. The western section has a tiled roof and contains two sash windows with intact glazing bars, along with an archway through the building beneath the westernmost window. The Town Hall is part of a group of listed buildings on the north side of High Street, which includes the Church of St Mildred, spanning from Nos 10 to 44.
