Description

17 High Street is a 15th-century timber-framed house that stands two storeys tall with attics. The first floor features close-studding and a heavy moulded bressumer below it, along with a smaller beam that projects beneath the first floor windows. Originally, the first floor jutted out, but modern shop fronts have been added beneath it. The house has a steeply pitched tiled roof with one stack and a hipped dormer. On the first floor, there are two casement windows with diamond panes and original glass. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the south side of High Street, ranging from Nos 17 to 57.
