Description
The Old House is a house built in the mid-18th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings. The roof is made of plain tiles, and there are stone gable stacks and stone coped gables with plain kneelers.
The house has two storeys and a symmetrical three-bay north elevation. The central doorway is framed by a stone lintel and jambs, and features a panelled door with the top two panels glazed. On either side of the doorway, there are 2-light square section flush mullion windows with square pane leaded glazing. Above, there are three similar 2-light windows. At the rear, there is a lower range that has been fitted with 20th-century glazing.
