Description
The Mount is a house built in the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings and chamfered quoins. The roof is made of plain tiles and includes stone gable end stacks, as well as stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The building has a plain plinth and a moulded eaves cornice.
The house has three storeys and three bays. The central entrance features a moulded doorcase with a bracketed moulded pediment, and it has a 20th-century glazed door topped with a semi-circular canopy. On either side of the door, there are glazing bar sashes set in raised plain surrounds. Above the entrance, there are two similar sashes with a central round window in between, which has a raised fillet along the edge of its flush surround. The top storey features two additional glazing bar sashes in raised plain surrounds, with a blocked central window between them, also in a flush surround with a raised fillet along the edge.
