Description
Mount Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble, featuring gritstone dressings and quoins. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has stone gable end stacks, along with stone coped gables that include moulded kneelers. The building has two storeys and consists of two bays. On the east side, there is a flush doorcase with a lintel inscribed 'WPT' and a plank door. To the west, a former flush doorcase has been filled in with a 20th-century window. Further to the west, there is a 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window with casements. Above this, there are two recessed and chamfered windows, which were originally 2-light but now have 19th-century casements. This cottage is included in the listing for its group value only.
