Description

Cedar Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with minor alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings and raised quoins, featuring a plain plinth and a moulded eaves cornice. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in plain tiles, with a stone ridge and stone gable end stacks. It has stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. The cottage is two storeys high with two bays. An east-facing doorcase has flush quoins, rounded top corners, a large bracketed stone hood, and a 20th-century stable door. To the west are two raised two-light mullion windows, with two matching windows above. All the windows are 20th-century small pane casements. Inside, the front room contains a large bracketed stone fireplace with a moulded hood. The cottage was originally listed in 1967 together with The Cottage and Acorn Cottage as a range of two cottages.
