Description

This is a milepost located on Derby Road in the parish of Duffield, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a circular shape. The thin cylindrical shaft rises to a broader upper section that features a domed top. The milepost is inscribed with "DERBY/4/MILES" and includes the name of the makers, "HARRISON," running up the shaft.
