Description
Crow Trees is a house dating from the 17th century, which was refronted in the early 18th century and had additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features chamfered stone coped gables with plain kneelers. There are three brick gable stacks and one stone gable stack, along with stone quoins and a stone band at the first floor on the front elevation.
The northwest elevation consists of five bays arranged in a 1-3-1 pattern, with the central three bays rising to three storeys. The central doorway has a moulded stone surround and a raised and fielded panelled door, flanked by glazing bar sashes in moulded architraves. Above this, there are three smaller similar windows and three additional smaller windows in plain stone surrounds. To the right, there is a lower 19th-century bay with a glazing bar sash on the first floor, and to the left, a lower bay with one glazing bar sash.
The rear elevation is irregular, featuring a stone ground floor with brick above. Inside, there is a staircase with wavy splat balusters, which was altered in the 19th century. The interior also includes raised and fielded panelled doors and shutters. In one upstairs room, there is an early 18th-century chimneypiece with fluted pilasters and keyblocks.
