Description

SK 3755 PARISH OF SOUTH WINGFIELD HIGH ROAD 5/96 Outbuilding to the south of Malthouse Farmhouse GV II

Farm outbuilding. Mid C18. Coursed rubble coal measures sandstone with plain gables and plain tiled roof. Two storey range, attached to farmhouse at north end, and with advanced crosswing to east elevation at south end. East elevation two storeys, three bays, with three window openings, two in former doorways, now blocked. Two are pivot windows, one a horizontal sliding sash, and all with glazing bars. Quoined surround to northernmost blocked door. Advanced wing with stacked 2-light flush mullioned window to gable and a doorway in the angle of the two ranges, approached by a short range of stone steps, and with a quoined surround and lintel. The end bay has been partially reconstructed in brick, with a lean-to enclosing the angle between the ranges at the south end. Listed for group value.
