Description

26 High Pavement is a town house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and was restored in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings, some of which are painted, and features slate roofs. It has a plinth, quoins, a first-floor sill band, a modillion eaves cornice, and a panelled balustrade. The structure is three storeys tall and has a five-window range of original 12-pane sash windows, which are topped with brick flat arches and keystones. The central entrance features an ashlar doorcase with a plain frieze and pediment, along with replica six-panel double doors. There are two replica windows on each side of the entrance. The rear of the building has regular fenestration and includes a late 18th-century semicircular bay window on the right side, which is also three storeys tall.
