Description
The County Tavern is a public house that was originally a house, built in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with a gable stack. The building has a plinth, sill bands on each floor, and deep wooden eaves. It stands four storeys tall and has a four-window range of 16-pane sash windows arranged in a 2:2 pattern. On the third floor, there are 12-pane sash windows, all of which have sarcophagus-shaped lintels. The ground floor includes an elliptical arched carriage entrance on the right, which has a shaped keystone and is flanked by a pair of cast-iron gates. To the left of the entrance, there are two windows.
