Description

14 High Pavement is a house that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid-18th century and was altered in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with painted ashlar dressings and features a slate mansard roof with two brick gable stacks. It has a modillion cornice and stands three storeys tall, plus a basement and attics. The façade includes a three-window range of plain sashes with wedge lintels and cornice keystones. The attics are adorned with two slate-hung gabled dormers that have glazing bar cross casements. On the ground floor, to the right, there is an original wooden doorcase with a dentillated cornice supported by brackets. The original eight-panel door has an ornamental blind fanlight above it, along with a keystone. Inside, the passage features an 18th-century doorcase with a fanlight and sidelights, leading to another eight-panel door.
