Town house, now offices. Early C18, altered C19, restored and converted c1990. Brick with painted ashlar dressings, and plain tile roof with blue brick coped gable and rebuilt ridge and gable stacks. Rendered plinth, ground floor and first floor sill bands, moulded wooden eaves cornice. All the sashes have wedge lintels with keystones. 3 storeys plus attics; 4 window range of 12-pane sashes. Above, 4 similar windows, and above again, 2 box dormers with glazing bar casements. Ground floor has an off-centre wooden doorcase and hood on iron brackets, early C19, with panelled door and overlight, flanked by 16-pane sashes. To right, a passage entrance with wrought-iron gate and overthrow. INTERIOR has two C18 dogleg staircases, one with turned balusters, extended early C19. No.36 was listed on 11/08/52.
