Description
The circular pond with a central fountain and statue, likely dating from the late 18th century, is constructed of sandstone ashlar and bronze. The pond measures approximately 5 meters in diameter and features a low raised stone surround with a moulded outer rim. At the center of the pond is a fountain consisting of a tall hexagonal pedestal topped by a bronze statue of an oriental female figure. She is seated cross-legged on a low hexagonal stool, surrounded by large shallow scallop dishes. The figure holds a similar dish on her lap and has a spout in the shape of a mollusc shell.
