Description
The boundary wall to the west of the garden of Woodthorpe Hall is likely from the 18th century. The section to the north of the house is made of handmade red brick laid in stretcher bond, topped with flat stone coping. This section ramps down at the north end to connect with a coursed stone wall that has rounded coping and extends to the lane. To the south of the red brick section, there is a length of unevenly coursed stone with flat coping, which includes gateposts at various points. This section curves in a convex shape to meet an outer wall made of evenly coursed stone with stepped and sloped coping, which is probably from the 19th century. This outer wall returns to the east, curves south in another quadrant, and ends at the property boundary before returning east for a short distance.
