Description
The building is a machine shop and attached office, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond, featuring ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The structure is two storeys high.
On the street front, there are two gabled bays that include a pair of double plank doors with a segmental brick head and ashlar hinge blocks. Above these doors is a similar loft entrance, which is now blocked, featuring a large projecting ashlar sill supported on ashlar brackets. To the right, there is a plank door with an overlight, followed by a plain sash window with a similar sash window above it.
On the left side of the building, which is the south-east front, there is another pair of plank double doors with a segmental brick head and ashlar hinge blocks, along with a loft entrance above that is also blocked and has a large projecting ashlar sill supported on ashlar brackets. To the right of this entrance, a flight of external stone steps leads to another plank door above.
The interior has not been inspected. The single-bay river front features another large entrance with a loft entrance above, both of which are now blocked.
