Description

This is a bollard located on a street corner in Leeds, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a design that resembles a cannon and cannonball, with ribbed moulding positioned midway up the shaft. This bollard is identical to others found outside the East Street entrance to Bank Mills and those located outside Nos 11 and 13 Hirst's Yard. The design was noted in Charles Fowler's map of the town of Leeds from 1831.
