Description

Numbers 37, 39, and 41 are a terrace of three houses built between 1849 and 1851, located on Lyddon Terrace in the University Campus area of Leeds. The houses are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a slate roof and feature cast-iron railings. They rise three storeys above a basement, with each house having three first-floor windows and an entrance on the left side. Access to the front doors is via stone steps with moulded treads leading to four-panel doors that have overlights, all set within pilastered surrounds topped with an entablature and cornice. The windows have stone sills and a continuous sill band on the first and second floors, with slightly cambered rubbed brick arches above. The sashes include glazing bars, some of which have been restored. Each house has truncated stacks positioned forward of the ridge on the right side. The railings flanking the steps are adorned with moulded spearhead finials. The interior has not been inspected.
