Description
This is a terrace of three houses located on Church Street, dated 1836 and altered in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with flared headers, and feature a slate roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The terrace has a one-unit plan and consists of three stories with a three-window range, sloping downhill and displaying a tripartite composition.
Each house has six-panel doors, with the door to the left of centre (No. 3) featuring a fanlight, a round-arched head, and a round hood supported by shaped brackets. The doors to the left (No. 4) and right (No. 2) have segmental-arched heads and straight hoods on shaped brackets. The ground and first floors have sash windows with round-arched heads, while the second floor features curved 12-pane sashes with segmental-arched heads. Nos. 2 and 3 have one stone step leading to their doors, while No. 4 has two steps. There are painted stone plaques on the terrace, one to the left of centre inscribed "J + H/Built" and another to the right of centre inscribed "1836". The eaves are boxed. The interior has not been inspected.
