Description

Gate piers and flanking walls to The Towers were built in the late 19th century. They are constructed from coursed gritstone and ashlar. The gate piers are large and stand on square plinths, featuring carved panels with roundels and topped with pyramid capstones. The words "THE TOWERS" are inscribed on the road front of each pier. The walls on either side are approximately 5 meters long, have flat coping, and are finished with pilastered terminals that also have pyramid capstones. These structures are included for their group value.
