Description

The boundary wall, railings, gate piers, and gates to Christ Church were likely built around 1870 by Richard Adams. The wall is made of coursed gritstone and runs along the front of Christ Church and the grounds of the vicarage, measuring approximately 120 meters in length. It features cast-iron railings and ashlar piers that have a square plinth, octagonal shaft, moulding, and pointed capstones. The gates are designed with elaborate interlaced bars and topped with ball finials. This structure is included for its group value.
